In only one day, the mobile center welcomed more than 40 volunteers under strict organization and control to guarantee the safety and health of the blood donors. Each Allianz employee had the opportunity to set aside 15 minutes of their time for an invaluable gesture of generosity and care. Doctors said that one blood donation could save the lives of up to three people.
Traditionally, the stocks of blood and blood products in the country are insufficient. During the state of emergency, blood centers in our country were left with almost no volunteers, and in the summer months activity is low. At the same time, the need in hospitals is growing. In this critical moment, Allianz Bulgaria once again showed that the strategic objective of the company is to secure the future, and the team members put the values of the group into practice in their everyday lives.
“I thank the Allianz volunteers who acknowledged that this was also their cause. I am confident that we will turn this volunteering initiative into a tradition”, shared Ioannis Kotsianos, Chairperson of the Executive Committee of Allianz Bulgaria Holding, who was among the first to visit the blood donation center. “I am also grateful to the team from the Transfusion Hematology Center of the Military Medical Academy for the impeccable organization and professionalism”, Mr. Kotsianos added.
