Services Availability from December 30 to January 4

Оur systems will under a technological transition to the euro currency. As a result, some services will have limited availability. During this timeframe, payments, banking operations, and insurance services including new policy issuance, premium payments, and claims registration will not be accessible.

Please review the specific time intervals when access to the separate services will be restricted.

A significant part of the technical activities related to the euro transition is scheduled for the period December 30 – January 4. To ensure you are prepared and to provide convenience during the holiday season, please review the information below:

You will be able to make card payments throughout the holiday period, except for a one-hour interval required for system reconfiguration from 23:30 on December 31 until 00:30 on January 1. After this time, card systems will resume normal operation, and all transactions will be processed in euro.

Available balances on cards will be updated on December 30 at 17:00. Loading additional funds will not be possible until all banking systems are fully operational in euro, which is expected no later than January 4.

Cash withdrawals in BGN will be available until 21:00 on December 31, when ATMs will be taken offline for updates. Starting 00:00 on January 1, ATMs will dispense cash only in euro.

Bank POS terminals will accept payments in BGN until 21:00 on December 31. The transition to euro will continue until 00:00 on January 1, after which all transactions will be processed in euro.

Digital banking platforms will not be accessible from 14:00 on December 30 and will remain unavailable until January 4, 2026 at the earliest.

From 17:00 on December 30, online premium payments will not be accessible. Please ensure any upcoming installments are settled in advance.

Online platforms for filing and tracking claims, as well as client portals My Allianz and Allianz Health, will remain accessible until 14:00 on December 31 and will resume operation after January 4, 2026.

  • In case of theft, immediately contact our Customer Service Center at 0700 13 014
  • For accidents or breakdowns, notify the competent authorities at 112
  • If roadside assistance or towing is required, call 0700 13 014 and follow operator instructions.
  • In case of an incident (leak, fire, burglary), ensure safety and contact our Assistance Center for guidance.
  • Keep all documentation for claim submission once systems are restored.

Scheduled Check-ups at Medical Facilities (Subscription Service)

If you wish to use the services of medical facilities contracted by Allianz Bulgaria for diagnosing and monitoring health issues or for routine check-ups, we recommend planning your visit after January 5.

Emergency Cases

For life-threatening conditions requiring immediate action, call 112 or visit the nearest Emergency Medical Center.

Urgent Medical Care

If you need urgent medical assistance:

  • You can pay for the medical services in cash on-site and submit a claim through the Allianz Health digital platform after January 5, 2026. Make sure to collect all necessary documents. Learn more here.
  • Use your rights as an insured person under NHIF – through your GP or the nearest urgent care unit.
  • At medical facilities that are our contracted partners, present at the reception desk the health card number from the latest Viber/SMS message from us, along with your ID card.

Starting January 4, 2026, all systems will gradually return to normal operation.

  • By 14:00 on December 30, top up your cards online with sufficient funds to cover expenses for the next five days.
  • Keep some cash in BGN for New Year’s Eve.
  • Schedule your first bank transfers for 2026 no earlier than January 5.
  • Banking offices will operate until 12:00 on December 30.
  • Interbank transfers on paper will be processed until 12:00, and digital transfers until 14:00.
  • Online and mobile banking platforms will remain available until 14:00 on December 30.
BGN banknotes and coins will remain in circulation throughout January during the dual currency period.
